Which settings can I customise when using the Lansinoh® 2in1 Electric Breast Pump?
The Lansinoh® 2in1 Electric Breast Pump was designed to mimic the baby’s natural feeding pattern and comes with two phases: ‘let-down’ which stimulates the milk flow through quick and short suction and ‘expression’ which maximises milk flow through longer, deeper suction. The ‘phase’ toggle button enables you to make an easy transition between the two phases. In ‘expression’ phase, you also have a choice between 3 different pumping styles which you can further tailor for comfort by selecting one of eight different suction strength levels.
-
Can I return to the let-down/stimulation phase once I am in the expression phase?
Yes, you can easily switch between the 2 phases using the ‘phase’ toggle button. When switched on, the 2in1 Electric Breast Pump will start in ‘let-down’ phase which lasts for 2 minutes, at which point it will automatically switch to the ‘expression’ phase. If you achieve let-down prior to the 2 minute automatic switchover, you can push the ‘phase' toggle button and you will go into the expression phase. Similarly, if you wish to return to the faster ‘let-down’ phase during your pumping session, you can push the ‘phase’ toggle button and the pump will switch back into the ‘let-down’ phase.
-
What cycle and suction settings will the pump go to once the let-down phase has ended?
The ‘let-down’ phase lasts for two minutes, unless mum decides to switch to ‘expression’ phase prior to this by using the ‘phase’ toggle button. Once the pump has switched to the second phase – ‘expression’, the pump will be at the following settings: Pumping Style – 2 leaves; and suction setting – level 3. Mum can then select her preferred pumping style and increase or decrease the suction level.
-
How many times does the Lansinoh® 2in1 Electric Breast Pump cycle?
The pump cycles 87-125 times/min in the stimulation phase and 37-95 times/min in the Expression phase.
-
What is the suction range of the Lansinoh® 2in1 Breast Pump?
The pump ranges from 55-140 mmHG in the stimulation mode and 80-220 mmHG in 1 second in the expression mode. There are 8 suction settings and 3 pumping styles a mum can choose from to maximise her comfort and efficiency.
-
Is there an ideal setting for maximum milk flow using the Lansinoh® 2in1 Electric Breast Pump?
Because every woman is different and mums respond differently to breast pumps, there is no ideal setting. However, we have designed the 2in1 Electric Breast Pump to mimic baby’s natural feeding pattern and have included optimum pumping settings to ensure your comfort and maximise milk production. We encourage mums to try the 3 pumping styles in order to find the best suited for them and use the + and – buttons to find the most comfortable setting.
-
What do the 1 leaf, 2 leaves, 3 leaves on the Style setting mean?
There are three different pumping styles mums can choose from to maximise their comfort and efficiency in extracting milk. These different styles are denoted by one, two and three leaves on the circular mode button. Every mum is different, so we recommend that you try each of the pumping style modes to determine which one works best and is most comfortable for you.

Are the Lansinoh® 2in1 Breast Pump parts dishwasher safe? Can I use a microwave steam bag to clean?
Please Note: Tubing and tubing Y connector or white pump connector should never be washed or sterilised.
All parts, excluding the tubing, y connector, and pump connector are dishwasher safe though we highly recommend gently hand washing the white valves and diaphragms as they are delicate and can affect the performance of the pump if damaged or torn with vigorous washing or harsh detergents. All parts except for the tubing, tubing Y connector, white pump connector and breast cushions can be steam-sterilized in a microwave bag according to the manufactures directions for use.
Please ensure all pump parts are completely dry prior to use as performance may be affected.
-
Can I use other pump brand replacement parts with the Lansinoh® 2in1 Double Electric Breast Pump?
The components of the Lansinoh® 2in1 Double Electric Breast Pump have been specifically developed for our pump to achieve the highest levels of quality and effectiveness. We do not recommend using another pump’s replacement parts as this might impact performance. Also, using another pump’s parts with our pump would void your warranty.
-
Can I use parts from the previous models of Lansinoh Double Electric Breast Pumps?
No, the parts are not interchangeable between the Affinity Pro Double Electric Breast Pump and the 2in1 Electric Breast Pump.
-
How is the new 2in1 Electric Breast Pump different from the Affinity Pro™ Double Electric Breast?
The 2in1 Electric Breast Pump includes our new wide neck bottles and is part of our new pump-store-feed solution, enabling parents to use the same bottle to express, then store the breastmilk using the sealing disc provided and feed baby simply by attaching the NaturalWave™ Teat to the bottle.
-
Does the 2in1 Electric Breast Pump work with batteries?
Yes, you can use 6 AA batteries (not included in the pack) to power the pump, or the AC Adapter (included in the pack). We recommend using alkaline batteries only and do not recommend using rechargeable batteries. Please replace all batteries at the same time, do not mix old and new batteries. If batteries are in the pump, but your AC adaptor is in use, the pump will use the AC adaptor to power the pump.
-
How long will the pump work with a new set of batteries?
You can expect the pump to run for approximately 2 hours with 6 AA alkaline batteries.
-
Can I pump directly into the Lansinoh® Breastmilk Storage Bags?
Unfortunately you will not be able to pump directly into the Lansinoh® Breastmilk Storage Bags because they have a double zipper closure and therefore will not fit securely on the pump.
-
How does the Lansinoh® 2in1 Electric Breast Pump compare to other available on the market?
The 2in1 Electric Breast Pump is designed as a closed system, preventing breast milk from backing up in the tubing or motor. This makes it more hygienic and safer for baby as it prevents airborne contaminants, bacteria and mold growth which can result from moisture in the tubing or pump base. Furthermore, the pump is the only one with three customisable pumping styles, offering mums optimised options for maximising her milk production and comfort.
-
What is the difference between the Lansinoh® 2in1 Electric Breast Pump and the Single Electric Bre
The Lansinoh® 2in1 Electric Breast Pump enables mums to express from both breasts at once, saving time and it can also be used as a single electric pump. It features an LCD screen which offers very useful information regarding the selected phase, pumping style, suction level helping mums identify and easily re-select their preferred settings. The screen also displays the time spent pumping as well as the power option used (batteries or mains). The Lansinoh® 2in1 Electric Breast Pump also offers a choice between three different pumping styles and 8 different suction levels, whereas the Single Electric offers a choice between 6 different suction levels.
-
Is the Lansinoh® 2in1 Electric Breast Pump a closed system?
Yes, all our electric pumps are a closed, hygienic system. By using a specially-designed diaphragm and diaphragm cap, the pump is guaranteed to prevent milk from backing up into the tubing and into the motor unit. This is important from a hygienic perspective (condensation and/or milk in tubing can cause mould and bacteria growth and build-up) and from a perspective of understanding how important every drop of your milk is to you and your breastfed baby.
-
What if I accidentally wash the tubing — can it still be used?
Our closed system means that the tubing does not need to be washed because the expressed milk does not come into contact with the tubing. If you accidentally wash the tubing, you can disconnect the tubing from the diaphragm cap and run the pump for a few minutes to see if the air from the base eliminates any condensation that may be inside. If you notice any remaining condensation or anything that may be mould, you will need to discard the tubing and contact our customer service team to get new tubing.
-
How do I know when to stop expressing?
When you are nearing the end of a pumping session, the streams of your milk will begin to slow or stop and/or your breasts will feel softer and less full. A breast is never truly “empty,” but it will be apparent with these clues that your body has released as much milk as it will at that particular session and you can stop expressing.
